We opened our Etsy doors in early 2013 selling a few soy candles in cute little tins- Yeti's Breath, Lavender Patch and a silly named Kitten Toots.
Over the last few years we've stretched our paws from truly small batch candle making in our kitchen to a slightly roomier pouring process in our Big White Yeti production studio in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Our creative process begins with thinking about things we like and scents we want our home to smell like. Earthy, natural and happy are typically the terms we throw around when talking about a new Yeti. It's that simple. If it's not a candle we'd burn in our home, we don't make it. We believe in simple, unfussy scents that smell really, really good.
We make beautiful soy candles that are 100% soy wax, pure fragrance oils and undiluted essential oils, and cotton wicks. That's it. Clean, pure, long lasting candles.
Care instructions
Let's talk about basic candle care. These apply to all 100% soy candles, not just Yetis.
1. Trim your wick - Before every lighting, trim the wick of your candle to about 1/4'' for a clean beautiful burn. You can use a fancy wick trimmer, a pair of scissors, or even just your fingers (which is what we do 99% of the time).
2. Let it burn- Allow the wax of your candle to melt to the edge of the container every time to ensure a complete and even burn. This prevents tunneling.
3. Never let a burning candle out of your sight. And don't burn it for more then 4 hours at a time.
4. Let it go- when only 1/4'' of wax remains in the jar, blow it out and clean it out with hot soapy water. Recycle it or repurpose the jar or tin.
