Kinnickinnic. Pronounced "kin-nick-a-nick"
Kinnickinnic Avenue is the main artery through our Bay View neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our Big White Yeti studio is located on this street. Kinnickinnic is an Ojibwe word which literally means "what is mixed" which, ironically, is exactly how we make our candles. We mix fragrance and melted wax.
There are a lot of reasons we call this Yeti Camp Kinnickinnic. We really love our neighborhood. And at night in the summer and fall, we can almost always smell a bonfire from someone's backyard fire pit. That smell- campfire- is so evocative. Everyone has a memory tied to that scent of pine and smoke and resin.
It took us a long time to get this Yeti right. We tried a lot of different combinations to make this candle smell like a campfire without smelling heavy or overbearingly like smoke. It's like all the best parts of a campfire without smelling like the campfire the next morning.
It's scent profile:
Top: Clove + Pink Pepper
Heart: Chestnut, Pine, Juniper
Base: Vanila, Balsam, Cashmeran
This candle is hand poured and contains 100% soy wax (no chemical or paraffin additives), a cotton wick, and fine fragrance oils.
Soy burns remarkably clean and long- expect the 6oz tin to burn for 25 – 30 hours and the 8oz frosted glass jar to burn for 45-55 hours. And when it’s gone, simply clean out the tin or jar with hot soapy water and repurpose it around your home.

CANDLE CARE
Let's talk about basic candle care.
1. Trim your wick - Before every lighting, trim the wick of your candle to about 1/4'' for a clean beautiful burn. You can use a fancy wick trimmer, a pair of scissors, or even just your fingers (which is what we do 99% of the time).
2. Let it burn- Allow the wax of your candle to melt to the edge of the container every time to ensure a complete and even burn. This prevents tunneling.
3. Never let a burning candle out of your sight. And don't burn it for more then 4 hours at a time.
4. Let it go- when only 1/4'' of wax remains in the jar, blow it out and clean it out with hot soapy water. Recycle it or repurpose the jar or tin.
